Q. WHY USE A DRAIN CAMERA AND JETTER COMBINATION WHEN CLEARING YOUR BLOCKED DRAINS?
A. The real advantage of using a jetter and drain camera combination over an eel or other methods is that we can inspect the drain while clearing the blockage. Often if there are multiple blockages or semi blockages simply clearing the drain without visual inspection to the drain could mean a plumber will be back within a shorter period of time to re-clear the blocked drains.
Q. IS USING A CAMERA AND JETTER EXPENSIVE? HOW CAN I SAVE MONEY?
A. When clearing blockages, the best way to ensure money saving it to do it right the first time. Treeroots will grow back over time, however when cleared thoroughly we can reduce the amount of time until the tree roots grow back, in some instances making a drain last over 12 months until needing to be cleared again, this will save money overtime and reduce callouts. Our High pressure Jetter can produce 5000PSI at 22L/m and we use state of the art cutting heads that ensure the best possible result when clearing drains with the camera and jetter combination.
Q. WHY DO TREE ROOTS GROW IN DRAINS?
A. There are multiple reasons why tree roots grow into drains, often this can be caused from pipescracking under pressure or duress from ground movement, retaining walls moving and pipes too close to foundations, subsidence of ground, highly reactive ground conditions, large trees in close proximity, etc.
Q. CAN I CLEAR TREE ROOTS MYSELF?
A. Often tree roots are deep underground and unless you know the exact location of the issuelocating the issue to perform repairs can be almost impossible. As part of our service we offer the use of our high quality drain locator, this piece of equipment can accurately locate drains deeper than 2m and within mm’s of the problem. A common DIY solution is to use copper sulfate down the drains, this is not a guaranteed solution but may buy you time.
Q. HOW DO YOU GET RID OF TREE ROOTS, WILL REMOVING THE TREES SOLVE THE PROBLEM?
A. Often removing the tree or trees won’t fix the problem, as the pipe is already damaged, tree roots can find their way into broken drains from as far away as 10m away (depending on the tree size andtype) Removal of trees may assist with the blocked drain, but cannot fix the problem. We offer reporting and quotes to repair the damaged pipes with our Premium drain cleaning deal.
